Aims & Mission
Nutritious Minds Trust was established in 2017 to provide accessible psychological, nutritional and educational support to low-income families and to individuals experiencing challenges relating to brain health and emotional wellbeing. We advocate for greater understanding and acceptance of different learning, behavioural and neurodevelopmental profiles, while empowering children and young people to recognise their strengths and reach their potential.
Nutritious Minds Trust provides psychologically informed, educational and nutritional support alongside community-based projects that promote creativity, connection and wellbeing. These include initiatives centered on the creative arts, music, nutrition, movement and physical activity.
We support children, teenagers and young adults with neurodevelopmental conditions, as well as their families. A key part of this work is the provision of local monthly support groups, creating a safe and inclusive space for families to discuss current challenges, share experiences, access practical information, problem-solve together and build a supportive community.
Empowering Young People, Strengthening Families, Building Community

Nutritious Minds Trust also works in partnership with schools, and other community organisations to create accessible workshops and educational programmes for children and young people. These initiatives are designed to provide free or affordable opportunities to explore areas such as the creative arts, music, drama, nutritional science, movement and physical activity.
Each programme is intended to foster a sense of belonging, help young people recognise and develop their individual strengths, and provide positive experiences that may inspire further learning, creativity and participation.
The workshops also aim to build confidence, strengthen social and communication skills, support emotional regulation and reduce behaviours associated with disengagement, frustration or adversity. By creating opportunities for young people to connect, learn and participate in meaningful activities, NMT seeks to build a more inclusive, diverse and connected community for young people and their families.
As Nutritious Minds Trust continues to develop, we aim to establish mentoring and coaching opportunities for young people who may be struggling with school avoidance, neurodevelopmental differences, unemployment, social exclusion or risk of offending. Mentoring relationships will focus on building self-esteem, confidence and a sense of purpose, while supporting young people to re-engage with education, training, employment and wider community life.

Assessment, Advocacy and Support
Nutritious Minds Trust Charity provides evaluation and diagnostic services through its professional network of qualified clinical psychologists, as well as child and adolescent psychiatrists, either free of charge or at a significant reduction for low-income families. This helps to bridge the gap created by extraordinarily long waiting lists, in some cases of up to two years, for assessment and diagnosis of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Dyslexia, Developmental Coordination Disorder or similar neurodevelopmental conditions through the National Health Service, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services and private clinics, which are often unaffordable for many families. By improving access to timely assessment and diagnosis, the Charity also aims to enable families to access much-needed support services at an earlier stage.
Nutritious Minds Trust Charity also provides a professional liaison service between parents and schools to help reduce the risk of permanent exclusions. The Charity supports parents in applying for Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments, previously known as statutory assessments, and helps families navigate the process of securing Education, Health and Care Plans for children and young people with Special Educational Needs.

Education, Advocacy and Community Outreach
Nutritious Minds Trust Charity aims to work with families to help identify and secure suitable educational provision for children and young people with neurodivergent profiles. Dr Rachel Goe has previously supported young neurodivergent people who are facing court proceedings by preparing psychological reports that document relevant symptoms, developmental history and, where applicable, previously undiagnosed neurodevelopmental conditions such as Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Reports may also consider co-occurring psychological conditions, including Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and the impact of childhood trauma. Where appropriate, this information may help provide important clinical context for mitigating circumstances and pre-sentence considerations
NUTRITIOUS MINDS TRUST CHARITY AIMS TO DEVELOP FUTURE COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROJECTS TO SUPPORT VULNERABLE CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE WHO ARE AT RISK OF EDUCATIONAL FAILURE BY HELPING THEM DISCOVER, NURTURE AND DEVELOP THEIR INTERESTS AND TALENTS IN THE CREATIVE ARTS, MUSIC AND DRAMA.
Nutritious Minds Trust Charity currently organizes community events and workshops that explore a range of current topics related to ADHD and neurodivergence, lived experiences, parenting, brain health/nutrition, research, clinical practice, emotional wellbeing, and education. These events also provide a motivational platform for individuals to share their experiences living with diagnostic labels, while offering inspiration and practical tools that have helped them navigate and overcome significant challenges in their lives. Nutritious Minds Trust Charity also shares valuable free information, educational content, and resources across its social media platforms.
